I lived by CMJ Magazine from the first time I found a copy at a bookstore as a kid. I learned about so many artists I would have been unlikely to find on my own at the time. In fact, I still have the discs that came with each issue.

When the opportunity to shoot for them came around years later, I didn’t hesitate. I packed my bags, jumped on a bus to NYC to cover the festival the next morning, beginning with SOB’s. This show still stands out for me from that festival.

It is still one of my favorite moments both in my career and as a fan of CMJ.

There was a group of fans in the line that made sure I made it to the front of the stage. If you happen to see this, please reach out as I have photos of you.
