About me

With more than a decade of professional experience in music photography, I’ve worked with some incredible artists, publications, agencies, venues, and management. My published images also include protests, political campaigns, and stories of international interest. I most regularly cover the Virginia and Washington, DC area, but I am no stranger to travel for the right opportunity.

My work has been featured in numerous print magazines as well as online publications, including Rolling Stone, Alternative Press, CMJ Music, Digital Photo Pro, The Chicago Tribune, Axios, CNN, CNBC, ABC, among others. I’ve also provided promotional content for artists, venues, and sponsors.

I received first place in Digital Photo Pro Magazine’s “Photo of the Year” competition in 2011 and have placed as a finalist in various other credible competitions, including “The Face.”

In 2016, I completed my Master’s degree and began teaching photography at local colleges. I have since covered photography basics, advanced software skills and lighting techniques, but my most notable achievement was restructuring  portfolio and marketing courses to provide my students with a competitive edge in their desired fields.

My efforts in education has earned the “Best of Virginia Beach” Award for Adult and Continuing Education in 2018 and 2019.

even my dad likes your photos...and he doesn't even like my band.

From basement shows to some of the largest festivals in the country, I have proven that my coverage isn’t limited to a certain venue or geographic location. When I am not on assignment, I can usually  be found in the crowd.

Though I love the challenges in photographing concerts, I have never been able to turn down the chance to get someone in front of the camera. Medium format or DSLR, film or digital, in the studio or on location, I’m not picky.
